Today's bus trip takes us south of Grenaa. First we stop in a little place called Alsoe where we visit the typical country church.
From our guide we learn that country churches, mostly dating back to early middle ages, were all built in this particular style.
What intrigues us the most to begin with is this very wide wall around the grave yard. The grave yard itself is the most beautiful we have ever seen.
The inside of these churches were always very ornate, first of all because they all date back to catholic times and secondly because whenever the church needed work done, the local gentry generally footed the bill. But of course, they liked to see their sponsorship advertised which is why their names and insignias always pop up on the various works of art.
Come to think of it, some things obviously never change.
