'Wenn Engel reisen weint der Himmel' is a German saying, meaning, when angels travel the sky weeps. And that is exactly what it does this morning. It all starts with an almighty clap of thunder about five in the morning. Then it just drizzles away as we gather by the bus to say good bye to our hosts.
We have an early start as we have a long way to drive today. Not that our next destination of Syd Thy is that far away but we are making a rather long detour to LEGOLAND!
At first we wonder why so much time has be
en set aside for the visit to Legoland as we think it is all kid's stuff. But we soon find it very enjoyable.
To start with, we get a guided tour through the museum part and learn how one man who started making wooden toys set it all up. A very amazing success story.
After lunch we get to see the fun part of Legoland. It is all beautifully layed out and the castles and towns they have built with Lego are just phantastic.
Some of us end up trying out most rides and feel quite rejuvenated afterwards. We really have lots of fun.
The weather improves temporarily while we are there but when it comes time to leave it starts to rain again. On the way to Thisted it improves again however.
In the region of Thy, we are hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Thisted, Hanstolm and Sydthy. That means we are so spread out that the bus has to make a couple of stops to let some of us out to be picked up. Unfortunately there is some confusion and lots of phone calls have to be made. Eventually it is all sorted though and we all have hosts and a bed to sleep in which is what counts most at the moment because we arrive fairly late.
